Happy Tuesday! Today we welcome Susannah Sandlin, author of the Penton Legacy to the blog.  Susannah Sandlin is the author of paranormal romance set in the Deep South, where there are always things that go bump in the night. A journalist by day, Susannah grew up in Alabama reading the gothic novels of Susan Howatch and the horror fantasy of Stephen King. (Um…it is fantasy, right?) The combination of Howatch and King probably explains a lot. Currently a resident of Auburn, Alabama, Susannah has also lived in Illinois, Texas, California, and Louisiana.

Today, Susannah shares a little with us on how the Penton Legacy came about and what projects she will be working on next!  For more about Susannah, or to connect, check her out in the following places:

Omega (Penton Legacy, #3)Title:  Omega
Series:  The Penton Legacy
Author:  Susannah Sandlin
Genre:  Paranormal Romance

Holy Smoke! Susannah Sandlin delivers a finale that kicks ass and sucks all at the same time because Omega is the final book in the series!  But.....hold on.....stop the freaking press, she's doing a spin off to the series that is sure to make fans happy! Considering how Sandlin resolved the many lingering issues of the Penton scathe, the Omega Force spin-off is sure to keep the story lines going and may even bring us a little page-time with some of our favorite characters from the series.

Omega picks up just where Redemption left off with the citizens and vampires of Penton living in Omega and trying to figure out their next move against Mathias Ludlam. Determined to make Aiden, Miran, and Will pay for their crimes against him, Mathias ramps up his forces to bring the 3 to heel and tears Penton apart in search of their elusive hideout.

Absolution (Penton Legacy, #2)Title:  Absolution
Series:  The Penton Legacy (Book 2)
Author:  Susannah Sandlin
Genre:  Paranormal Romance

The Penton Legacy just keeps getting better!  Absolution, book 2 in the series, picks up a few months after the big battle between Aidan and his brother Owen leaving the citizens of Penton scared and waiting to see if the Vampire Tribunal and Matthias Ludlam will somehow retaliate.  Absolution features Mirren Kincaid and the super funny Glory Cummings.

Mirren Kincaid, better known as "The Slayer" for his previous work as the Vampire Tribunal's enforcer and executioner, has been hiding out in Penton and living a shadow of a life believing he is unworthy of ever finding love and true friendship.  The only person Mirren has even come close to calling friend is Aidan and even Aidan is kept at an arm's length to Mirren.  Frequently punishing himself by using acid to burn his skin to represent the lives he has taken over the years, Mirren is unprepared for Glory to come along and turn his world upside down and make he finally acknowledge that he has a heart!

Mine to Keep (Mine, #2)Title:  Mine to Keep
Series:  Mine (Book 2)
Author:  Cynthia Eden
Genre:  Romantic Suspense

Wow! This book took me on an intense ride and at the end I felt like I left my stomach at the top of the first big hill.  Mine to Keep picks up just a few weeks after the huge showdown in Mine to Take.  We find Skye and Trace hiding away on a secluded island trying to heal from the trauma of Skye's stalker ex-boyfriend attempt to kill both Skye and Trace.  Unfortunately, the couple doesn't really have time to connect before the next crisis arrives.  Will the couple survive Trace's secrets?  Can Skye accept living in the dark and never really knowing who Trace really is outside of his relationship with her?

I must say that I enjoyed Mine to Keep much better than I did Mine to Take mainly because Eden allows Skye to emerge as a formidable mate for Trace.  Skye has been through hell and she survived!  She allows this knowledge to propel her into reclaiming her life without being overshadowed by Trace's overprotective instincts.  Additionally, Skye faces off with Trace and demands he allow her to live her life without constantly being watched and guarded.

Holy Smoke!  I abso-freaking-lutely LOVE Shield of Winter book cover!  This one will feature the arrow Vasic and a new unknown heroine named Ivy!  While I must do an uber pout because Singh has started to focus more on the Psy race which means that I don't get my Hawk fix, I still love the series and will be *cough* calling in sick for the release of this one.  It comes out on June 3, 2014!  I like this new look for the series, how bout you?  Drop us a line and let us know what you think!

Mine to Take (Mine, #1)Title:  Mine to Take
Series:  Mine (Book 1)
Author:  Cynthia Eden
Genre:  Romantic Suspense

Every now and then I feel the need to randomly pick a book based solely on it's book cover and give it a shot.  Mine to Take was that book for me this month and while I can't say that I LOVED it, I can say it was solid book that held my interest and kept me guessing all the way to the big reveal at the end.

Trace Weston (you know like Michael Weston on Burn Notice) became enthralled with Skye Sullivan when she was just 15 years old and he was forced to rescue her from a nasty foster brother that was attempting to rape her.  The two bonded body, soul, and mind until Trace made the ultimate sacrifice by letting Skye go so that she could pursue a career as a ballet dancer in New York.  Forcing her to hate him by telling her he no longer wanted her in his life, Trace joined the military and attempted to move on with his life.  Now, ten years later, Trace is still keeping tabs on Skye from afar and fighting with himself to leave her to her life when she walks into his security company racked with fear and anguish because she has an unknown stalker.

Blood Will Tell (Chimeria #1)Title: Blood Will Tell
Series: Chimeria (Book 1)
Author: Meredith Mansfield
Genre: Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy
Purchase the Book:  Amazon | Barnes & Noble

The Chimeria Series was gifted to me as part of this virtual tour in exchange for an honest review. After reading a description of the book, I was excited to enter the world known as Chimeria. WOW, did this book take me on a rollercoaster ride. Once I started the book, putting is down was not an option. (Sorry to all the people I ignored.)The different dynamics of each character made the perfect story.

The main character of Blood Will Tell is Valeriah, who had the good luck of being part wizard, unicorn, and werewolf. Chick has almost hit every genetic code in Chimeria. Unfortunately, werewolves are like an outcast and Vallie cannot actually shift. This made life hard for Vallie because she had to work ten times harder than everyone else. When Vallie was a child, her family was murdered by an unknown being, and she spent the rest of her childhood living with her grandfather and cousin Cristel. Once she reached adulthood, Vallie became a Portal Watch. Her whole life, Valeriah has wanted nothing more than to find the being that is responsible for murdering her family. While out on assignment, Vallie got the bad news that her grandfather was about to die. Rushing to be by his bedside, Vallie did not know how her life was about to take a tail spin.

This week our SINsual Sunday quote comes from Mine to Keep by Cynthia Eden.

His fingers slid between her legs.  One yank, and her panties were gone.  He stroked her, caressed her, had her own fingers twisting in the bed covers as the need grew within her. ~ Trace and Skye
Have a good week!  Laters Chickies!

Hola Chickies!  Our WACKY Wednesday photo this week is often how I feel when my kids bother me while I'm reading!

...and he really meant it
Welcome to this week's On the Couch with Celie feature! We had lots of good stuff happen this week on our favorite shows!  Check it out below:

Arrow

Ollie was his usual sexy self yet another week! On this episode, the story continues with Sara trying to decide if she would come out to her dad and Laurel. Laurel is now working on Ollie’s mom case and to me that is SOOO a conflict of interest…guess that was the point. Ollie should feel great that his pill popping friend is working against his family. (Did you catch the sarcasm?) Moira, Ollie’s mom, is on the fence about taking the plea deal that was offered to her because chick has some skeletons in her closet. But like the great children they are, Ollie and Thea were able to talk her into fighting. YAY TEAM! We did get a little more about what happened to Sara after the boat crash. One part of Ollie’s story was true, Sara did get sucked out the boat but she did surface. Sara had a Titanic moment after the crash by floating on a piece of the boat when the prisoner ship came along. That is how she ended up with the League of Assassins in which she spent four years with them killing people. Bringing things back to the present, Sara went AWOL from the league which is shy we have ninjas all over the place now. In the end, Sara came out to her dad and made him promise not to tell Laurel about her then disappeared. I surely do not believe that will be the last time we see of her.

Title: The Keeper's Revenge
Series: The Keeper Series (Book 2)
Author: O.L. Ramos
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Book Description (from Amazon):

If the world you lived in was someday revealed to be nothing but a lie, would you really want the truth? Elizabeth McBeth did, and she's paid the price for it...

The conspiracy has been exposed; Liz, Vincent, Mary and Michael had all thought that the vampire plot had been destroyed. They should have never underestimated Klein.

Klein has reinforced his armies, splitting the entire vampire species with the question... is Klein the vampiric messiah? Unfortunately for the heroes and the world itself, Klein has set in motion a plan that will destroy the world and recreate it in his own image.

Will the group be able to defeat Klein and restore the balance to nature? Or are they already doomed?
