A Sorceress of His Own by Dianne Duvall: Blog Tour and Giveaway! ~ Diaries of 2 Thick Chicks

Hola chickies! Today is super special because we get the chance to share our chat with Dianne Duvall about her new series The Gifted Ones. Book 1 in the series is already out and, is called A Sorceress of His Own. Words can't describe how awesome it is to get my hands on this one, especially since readers will learn more about the origin of Duvall's elite characters from the Immortal Guardians series. So without further ado, check out our interview with Dianne.

Interview Questions:

1. I was so excited to learn that you were launching a new paranormal romance series. Can you tell us a little bit about the series and how many potential books we can look forward to?
The first book, A SORCERESS OF HIS OWN, is actually a historical romance with fantasy or paranormal elements. Alssya, the heroine of A SORCERESS OF HIS OWN, is the first gifted one I created. For those who haven’t read my Immortal Guardians books: gifted ones are men and women who were born with extremely advanced DNA that lends them special gifts and abilities that ordinary humans lack. Alyssa may not understand the whys of it, but she does know she’s different. Among other things, she was born with the ability to heal with her hands and read emotions with a touch . . . which, unfortunately, has led others to label her a sorceress. But she isn’t the only one with such gifts. As you’ll see, both in The Gifted Ones series and in my Immortal Guardians series.

Since I’m a pantser rather than a plotter (i.e. I fly by the seat of my pants instead of outlining and plotting manuscripts before I sit down to write), I don’t know yet how many books The Gifted Ones series will boast. But it will likely be comparable to my Immortal Guardians series in terms of length. For now, I can tell you that I intend to release the second book in The Gifted Ones series — a time travel romance entitled RENDEZVOUS WITH YESTERDAY — in spring 2016.

2. Since the blurb is a bit unclear, will this series be set in modern day times, or will it be in a more historical setting?

A SORCERESS OF HIS OWN will be set in 12^th century England. But I believe this series will actually span multiple eras, particularly since RENDEZVOUS WITH YESTERDAY will be a time travel romance set in both the 12^th and the 21^st centuries.

3. I read the blurb on your website where you talk about the heroine Alyssa being the first gifted one you envisioned. Can readers expect there to be some crossover with the Immortal Guardians series?

Absolutely. Marcus, a well-loved character from my Immortal Guardians series, appears in A SORCERESS OF HIS OWN as the mortal teenaged squire of the hero’s brother. Seth and Roland also make appearances in it. The second book, RENDEZVOUS WITH YESTERDAY, will then tell the story of Bethany, the woman Marcus loved for eight hundred years. Since it’s a time travel romance, Marcus will appear both as a mortal teenaged squire in the past and as a powerful Immortal Guardian in the present in that one. You’ll see Seth in both books, too.

4. What's on your reading list right now?

There are sooooooo many books on my reading list right now. There are quite a few new-to-me authors I’ve been wanting to try, but haven’t had a chance to yet. I’ve fallen behind on all of my favorite series, too, with the exception of Laurann Dohner’s New Species series. I always manage to find time to listen to those. J But I’d like to catch up on Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series, Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity series, and Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series as soon as I can find some reading or listening time. And anything by Stephen King, of course, makes my list. His writing always inspires me.

So straight from the beloved Dianne Duvall's mouth, readers will get some Seth, Roland and Marcus action in this new series. I for one am hoping to learn more about what Seth really is..... Regardless, the book is currently out so pick up your copy and drop us a line to tell us what you think.
