**Disclaimer: A copy of this book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
A fight he must win...Wow, Total Surrender was UN-freaking-believable! Action packed from the very start, I loved every stinking minute and Ms. Zanetti certainly weaves an incredible web of deceit all within the first few chapters. I was kept on the edge of my seat and I confess to *cough-cough* having to leave work "Sick" so that I could finish this book! From the start, I have wanted to get my hands on Jory's story. For those of you new to this series **stop reading now**, Jory is presumed dead from the start. With each new installment, readers are given more hope that Jory actually survived his ordeal so to see his book come to fruition made me do my happy dance.
Piper Oliver knows she can't trust him. They warned her that the tall, dark, and sexy black-ops soldier Jory Dean would try to win her over with his steel-gray eyes and deadly charm, but she won't be conned by this man they call a traitor. All she has to do is figure out the science necessary to save his life, and she's done. Something isn't adding up, though, and she won't rest until she uncovers the truth-even if it's buried in his deep, dangerous kiss.
A passion she can't resist...
Jory will do anything to reunite with and save his brothers-even kidnap the gorgeous woman who's working to deactivate the deadly chip in their spines. But the forces determined to destroy his family won't let them go so easily. Keeping Piper alive is more than he bargained for-and so is his burning desire for her. But with every second bringing him closer to certain death, can he afford to lose himself in her hot and willing embrace?
Jory, like the other Dean brothers is fiercely protective of those he loves and will stop at nothing to get the information needed to remove the kill chips from his brother's back. When cute little Piper enters his containment area, Jory immediately starts working on a plan to get her to help him escape. There are several problems with his plan, one being that Piper has an agenda of her own and is harboring a secret that just might make her an unattractive package. When new intel shows up on the scene, Jory is more determined than ever to get out and save his brothers.
I loved Piper's character. The confusion and angst her character feels throughout the story is so indicative of what it would be like to work with spys....never knowing who you can really trust and whose telling the truth. In true Zanetti fashion, she takes the most likely person for committing the ultimate crime and spins it in a why that leaves readers with their mouths hanging open, shaking their heads and going WTF?
Total Surrender is non-stop action from beginning to end. I found myself laughing, holding my breath, shouting at the unfairness, and wondering how I was going to eventually get my happily ever after. Ms. Zanetti is the Queen of making readers lose all hope and then at the final hour, giving it back. Even though this was "suppose" to be the last book, I'm not so sure. There was a few pieces of the story and some new characters introduced that makes me wonder if we will somehow (fingers crossed) get more books in this series. Only time will tell. For now, I will relive my moments with the Dean brothers through my audiobook collection. I'm giving Total Surrender 5 Sweltering Keys!
