New author Tricia Skinner just continues to Wow me, turn me upside down and leave me panting for more with her incredibly engaging new series Angel Assassins.  Angel Bait is the prequel to the amazing Angel Kin and features the stoic Nephilim Jarrid and the spirited Ionie.   

After getting wind of a Renegade in the city, Jarrid makes it his top priority to bring the bastard in to grant him and his brothers the one thing they have wanted for ages......ascension.  To do so, he must dangle innocent and sweet Ionie as bait.  Ionie has no idea how her desire to gain more respect and better stories in her career as a reporter landed her in the middle of a supernatural measuring contest.  She's inquisitive.....sure.....but why is everyone paying so much attention to her all of a sudden and how on earth has she found herself desiring the brooding Jarrid?
 
To say I loved I Angel Bait  is a gross understatement.  What's not to like?  Alpha males with supernatural powers that are also virgins?  What more can a woman ask!  I absolutely love the world Tricia Skinner has created and the mystery surrounding he Nephilim.  Even more, I love the secondary characters and how easily they fell prey to Ionie's charming ways.  She instantly become the welcome younger sibling and now I'm even more intrigued to how her character will progress throughout the series.  

It will be interesting to see what happens next particularly because Tricia unveiled even more mystery in Angel Kin with the revelation that at least one Nephilim escaped the massacre and was raised by Renegades, begging the questions how many more may have escaped and how many could possibly be a case similar to Ionies? With Tricia's ability to write the storylines as good as, and better than more seasoned writers, I have no doubt she will address these questions.   I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next and it looks as though my wait won't be tooo terribly long as Angel Lover, Kasdeja's story is slated to drop sometime before the end of this year!  

If you love J. R. Ward before she went off the deep end and lost sight of the direction for the Black Dagger Brotherhood, you will LOVE the Angel Assassin series by Tricia Skinner.  I'm giving Angel Bait 4.5 Scorching Keys!
