Glimpse My Thoughts:  Tricia Skinner is a HOT new author that has stolen my heart and will be on my "order now" list for here on out!  Angel Kin had everything I love in a Paranormal Romance and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

When we were asked to review Angel Kin and feature it on our blog, I wasn't sure what to expect, however I love giving new authors a try so I graciously agreed to check it out.  Boy was I surprised because Angel Kin ROCKED my world, and was just what the doctor ordered to get me re-engaged with the Paranormal Romance Genre!  I'm even going so far as to give this chick the Favorite New Author this year award because I'm totally hooked on this series and I'm dying for the next book to come out....which won't happen I might add until August 31st. 

The thing I loved so much about this book was the setup of Angels, versus, Nephilim, versus Renegade Angels.  The Nephilim in this series are children of Angels that settled on Earth and mated with human women.  After a great battle, it was believed that only 4 Nephilim survived the war and were granted permission to live after their "angelic powers" were bound...meaning they have access to their power, however they can only use so much before they become wrought with extreme debilitating pain. 

Cain, our main character believes he lost his twin brother Abel during the battle after witnessing their family home burn to the ground, discovers his twin is in fact alive and has been living with and trained by the Renegade Angels. Que extreme self blame, torment, and an unyielding desire to find his brother and rekindle their relationship. There's just one problem....Abel is evil and dead set on exacting revenge on Cain for abandoning him and the death of their mother.  Abel believes the one way to truly make Cain suffer is by taking Katie's life.

While I enjoyed the interactions and the slow build to a romantic relationship between Cain and Katie, my true love of this book comes from the secondary characters and storyline.  The ending in this book leaves so many unanswered questions about Abel's future intentions and ultimately how Cain will handle his brother moving forward.  Even more, is the mystery surrounding whether or not Abel was the only Nephilim to have  survived the war, and the notion that if there are others, they too may be walking around with their full angelic powers they way Abel has because their existence is unknown.
