Title: Run the Risk
Series:  Love Undercover
Author:  Lori Foster
Narrator: Jim Frangione
Genre:  Romantic Suspense

Run the Risk is book 1 in the Love Undercover series, which is also a spin-off to Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series but features police officers.  I was a huge fan of the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series and as I have stated here before anything read by Jim Frangione is an added bonus so I decided to give this new series a try.  Well, I'm happy to say, I tried it and LOVE IT!

The first book features Logan Riske, a super sexy cop who's working undercover to find out the identity of the person responsible for the death of his best friend.  His cover requires him to get close to Pepper Yates, a mysterious beauty in hiding, and the potential key needed to solve the murder Logan's investigating. Logan doesn't think Pepper's involved in the murder but he does believe that she can lead him to her brother Rowdy, and ultimately to the man responsible for the heinous crime.  What Logan doesn't expect, is to fall prey to Pepper's spell and find himself falling for the woman he must betray to gain the answers he needs.

Run the Risk was everything I thought it would be.  Funny, intense at times, sexy as hell, and downright engaging.  Lori Foster is a master at creating elusive characters that are never quite what they appear, and Pepper and Rowdy definitely fall into that category!  As with the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series, Foster creates a strong bond between Logan and his partner Reece, as well as Logan's brother Dashiel (Dash).  It's a book that keeps you guessing all the way to the end and makes you want more even when it's over.

Jim Frangione does an excellent job of portraying the characters in this book.  He's one of the those narrators whose voice really goes well with the alpha male character, however he's able to portray the female voices in a positive light as well.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the books he narrates and anytime a sexy alpha male character is involved, I'm always on board with Jim.  If you love romantic suspense, and you want an audiobook read by a voice that just makes the words on the page come alive, check out Run the Risk in audiobook format by Lori Foster.  I'm giving this one 4 notes and 5 flames because Logan and Pepper were SMOKING HOT!
