So this past week, I devoured not 1 but 2 of Lisa Kessler's books from her Moon Series.  I loved them so much I tweeted about it and got a slap happy reply from Lisa that I made her day!  Imagine my surprise when she agreed to answer a few questions about her current release Hunter's Moon!  How cool is that? Well so cool that Celie and I decided we'd share the love and give away a free copy of Hunter's Moon!  OMG I totally have a new author crush!

INTERVIEW WITH LISA KESSLER:

Can you please tell us about your latest book Hunter’s Moon?

Hunter’s Moon is Aren & Sasha’s story and it actually came about as I was writing Moonlight. When Aren fought with Sasha in San Antonio, he hated jaguars so deeply that it hit me, what if she head butts him and that moment their skin touched he realizes to his horror that she’s his mate… The book took off right after I finished Moonlight. I had a blast writing it and because she’d been working for Nero it gave us all a little peek behind those walls…

How did you come up with the idea for the Moon series?

It all started with a short story called Moonlight. I had the honor of meeting Ray Bradbury a couple of times and I took up his challenge to write 52 new short stories in 52 weeks. It was an amazing journey and during that time I couldn’t stop thinking about Lana and Adam, so while I kept writing the short stories, I also wrote Moonlight and then Hunter’s Moon.

Once I had Moonlight written I love the Pack and also Sebastian surprised me too, so I decided it needed to be a series so we can eventually figure out all the mysteries behind Nero and all the hot guys can find the one woman to love them flaws and all… *smile*

Do you have a specific number of books planned in the Moon series, or are you writing them as they come to you?

I have 8 books planned for the Moon Series. Blood Moon will be out in July of 2014. That’s Gareth’s book and readers can have a sneak peek of the first chapter at the end of Hunter’s Moon. I’m hoping we’ll get Harvest Moon (Jason’s Book) out at the end of 2014, but I don’t have a date for that one yet, so we’ll see… *fingers crossed*

Who are the authors that inspired you to write and why?

Anne Rice was my first inspiration to write. I was crazy about her Vampire Chronicles and waiting for the next book fired me up to write my own vampire stories.

Once I got more involved in Romance Writers of America, I was lucky to meet Kelley Armstrong and Angie Fox who both gave me lots of encouragement and guidance along the way.

If you could meet one of your inspirational authors, what would you say?

Oh if I ever got to meet Anne Rice I hope I wouldn’t geek out completely! LOL But I would love to meet her and chat someday! She did respond me to me on Facebook a couple of times. And yes I have screen shots of both of them! LOL If it’s not already obvious I’m sort of a dork… *smile*

Can you share with us a little about other current books in progress?

I’m finishing up Night Child the final book in my Night Series and I’ve also started writing Blood Moon, the third book in the Moon Series.

I can tell by the photos you have up on Goodreads and Facebook that you like to dress up for Halloween. What are you dressing up as this year?

Halloween is my favorite holiday! This year I’m going to wear the amazing Evil Queen costume my daughter made for me.

Thanks for the great questions!

Lisa

  3. I bet she does an awesome job of reading the book! I would love to hear her. So sad that not many authors make down to the Atlanta area :( We miss all the good stuff! LOL
