Wacky Wednesday!

Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy, #2)

SWEET DESTINY this book was intense! Shooting Scars is book 2 in Karina Halle's The Artists Trilogy and it most definitely lived up to it's predecessor and maybe even surpassed the intensity of the last book. Just like Sins and Needles, this book starts a little slow, but Karina Halle is the champion of the slow build and when her books take off, they really take off!

This books starts us off exactly as it left us in Sins and Needles with Ellie on the run with Javier and Camden with his ex-wife and son. Readers have no idea of Javier's true intentions...will he hurt Ellie, what does he want from her, why did he finally set out to find her? These are just some of the questions that were spiraling through my head when I started the book. Even more, Halle drove me up the feaking wall because she would do a chapter on Ellie and a chapter on Camden...Really Chick I just need you to let the story flow. Basically what I'm saying is Halle forced us into mini cliffhangers throughout the whole damn book! Yes, this drove me crazy but I have to acknowledge that I love Halle more for it because it makes the ride even more intense and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Spook-ta-cular Series of the Week!

Our Spook-ta-cular series of this week is the Dark Protectors by Rebecca Zanetti. This one has been on our "to read" list for quite a while and it has always had rave reviews. While we have always wanted to read it, we couldn't quite muster the time to pick it up with all of the other 5,985 books that we are dying to read *signs, feels overwhelmed*! Anywho, earlier this year, we made a promise to actually try to get to some of the books that have been on our Goodreads list since the beginning of time so we pick up Fated! Well let me tell you, I was completely blown away with how much I L-O-V-E-D that book! Since then, we have rapidly gone through the series and I just finished up Shadowed this past week!

Welcome to the opening of On the Couch with Celie! Each Week, I will do a recap on my MUST watch shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Revenge. While Nettie can read a book in two days flat...sighs and rolls eyes to the ceiling....it would take me a month. (Believe me I hear about this daily!) The TV is my haven. So let the discussion beginning.

Grey’s Anatomy’s premiere was not as exciting as I hoped. Arizona worked my last night nerve! If you remember, in the season finale Arizona had an affair with the doctor chick from Dawson’s Creek. Well Torres knows that Arizona cheated on her and is acting out. I think Torres has all the right to be upset because wifey cheated. For some reason, Arizona cannot wrap her head around the fact that she messed up and can lose her family. Chick really needs to get a clue.

This week our SINsual Sunday quote comes from Shooting Scars by Karina Halle. I haven't finished the book yet but oh how I'm loving to hate crazy, demented Javier!

What's Doing....Hey, my brother? Those are just a few of the hilarious sayings that Ward created for her sexy as hell band of vampire warriors in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. Dark Lover is a very special book to us because it was our very first Adult Romance novel and my introduction into the wonder of Jim Fragione, who narrates the audiobook for the series. Coming from Twilight and Vampire Academy type books, I was completely blown away when I listened to Dark Lover and even more in love with the Romance novel genre because I had finally found a book that led to more "adult" topics and relationship issues, as well as something that really had some steam. Oh boy does this book have some steam! I found myself repeatedly checking to make sure no one could hear what I was listening to, and I'm sure I was quite red in the face a couple of times my boss came into my office (hee hee).

October Rockin Monthly Releases....

It's that time of the month again...no not that time (Thank God!) but time for our Rockin Monthly Releases! The month of October brings of lots of Tricks and Treats! OH and some surprises especially for fans of Lauren Dane's Brown Siblings series! Whatcha waiting for, check out what Thick Chicks are excited about releasing this month!

Since I already plugged Lauren Dane and because I just recently discovered this was coming out, I'm kicking out this month's releases with Drawn Together. This is the final (I think) book in Dane's Brown Siblings series and features the exotic and strange Raven! Whoo Hoo, are you excited, I'm excited because Dane initially ended the Brown Sibling series and then fans cried, begged, pleaded, blackmailed.....you get the drift....for her to provide us with a book for Raven. This one is most definitely on the list and a review will be coming your way soon, so be on the look out! Celie that means you're up Chickie!

This next one creates just as much excitement for me because I love dragons, especially when there's a lair full of super HOT, sexy dragons that want nothing more than to exchange energy with a girl. Coreene Callahan continues her Dragon series with the release of Fury of Desire which features Wick and J.J. who is also Tania's sister from Fury of Seduction. The Dragon Fury series is also one of the series that is an automatic download from Audible so on October 15th my audiobook cue will be clear so I can get started on this one!

This series is THAT business because it was Celie's and my first discovery of Twilight for Adults! To say we were in awe when we first listened to Dark Lover is an understatement. I for one had multiple eargasms listening to Wrath because he is the epitome of my type of alpha male with just a bit of mean and 280 lbs of male sexiness!YEAK!

Since we read them ages ago, and because I also have a copy of the audiobook, I decided to load it back onto my Ipod and give it another try to see if my reaction would still be the same. Well let me tell you, I still love Gideon and it was even better the second time around!
