Series: The Hollows, Book 12
Author: Kim Harrison
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Ratings:2K1CH

Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan has managed to save the demonic ever after from shrinking, but at a high cost. Now strange magic is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong, and the truce between the races, between Inderlander and human, is shattering.

Rachel must stop the occurrences before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war. However, the only way to do so is through the ancient elven wild magic, which carries its own perils.

This book just made my day! So much happens in The Undead Pool that you just have to prepare yourself. Rachel still seems to have the luck from hell. It's like anytime something goes wrong in the Hollows, Rachel gets pulled right on into the trouble. I can happily say that this time it was not her fault. Not that it's her fault all the other times but goodness this chick needs a break. So in this installment, Rachel has to figure out why people's spells are exploding and why the vampire masters are sleeping. We get some vampire rebels that show up that cause serious issues plus we get to meet some new elves.

There are some developments with the whole team. Ivy is still working on her relationship with her love interest. It's not easy since she is fighting the hold of a master vampire. Jenks is still his crazy self. Dude has somehow turned into the advocate of getting Trent and Rachel together. Al and Newt are still helping Rachel grow into her demon ways. Newt is a little more sane in this book but chick is still bat-shyte-crazy! Rachel and Al have a HUGE fight that will leave you wondering why did he react in the way he did.....I have my theories though. The big kicker of this book is Trent and Rachel. These two are so cute and Trent always trying to be a badass just does not work with Rachel. I don't want to spoil the development for you but I was VERY happy with the outcomes of all people living in the church.

The Undead Pool was an awesome read. Kim Harrison's The Hollow series has been my go to book for a while now and I am sad to see we only get one more book before the series ends. So far, it looks like we will get a lot of closure so we won't be left with too many questions. The Undead Pool is rated an insanely scorching heart. Happy reading!
