Chasing Magic is like all the other Downside Ghosts books....a mess. I am sad to say that I could not finish this book. I usually get through the story because the way they speak amuse me but enough is enough. Chess is depressing! After the last book I was hoping that she was going to change her ways or show some type of growth from being a crackhead. NOPE, Chess is the still whining the whole book. I've gotten to the point that if Chess was a real person, I would push her off the nearest bridge. This chick has zero self-esteem and can't decide to live or die. I actually feel bad for Terrible. Dude actually loves her and want's to see her get better but Chess is like a dead weigh for him. Like you have to be bad to make a drug dealer/tough guy look WONDERFUL! Needless to say there will not be a moment boring enough in my life to make me want to pick up this book or the next book. Chasing Magic gets a colossal one DNF key.
