Title: Demon Song
Series: Blood Singer, Book 3
Author: Cat Adams
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Rating: 3 Notes
Goodreads Synopsis:
In a world where magic
is real and the supernatural is almost normal, bodyguard Celia Graves
has survived a vampire attack which made her a half-vampire and awakened
her latent Siren abilities. She’s battled a Siren Queen to the death
and twice faced down a demon that wants to kill her--slowly. She’s also
had her heart broken--twice--by her old flame, magician Bruno DeLuca.
Perhaps
the worst thing was the discovery that Celia’s life has been warped by a
curse laid on her during childhood--the cause of everything from the
death of her little sister to the murder of her best friend the same
night that Celia became an Abomination.
An ancient rift between
the demonic dimension and our own--sealed during the destruction of
Atlantis--begins to open, threatening to loose all the demons of hell on
humanity (including the one personally bent on destroying Celia).
Celia’s hellish recent experiences have given her the unique combination
of abilities needed to close the rift. But to overcome the curse, which
nearly guarantees her failure, she’ll need to join forces with people
she no longer trusts...and put people she has come to care about
directly in harm’s way.
Book Review:
This series is my new in between read. The storyline keeps you interested but at the same time you don't get overwhelm with the story.
Celia just can't catch a break. First she gets turned into a vampire then she finds out she's a siren. Now she has to save the world...again. The sirens have definitely been keeping secret until the dimension between worlds started to crack and we have demons crawling out. In order to keep the mayhem to a minimum, John Creede and Bruno have to work together. To make thing more difficult, Celie has to work along aside the Sirens to get them to tell the actually story of Atlantis. Mind you most of them already don't like her because she's an abomination. We have all heard different stories about what happened to Atlantis but who knew it was the sirens' fault it "sank". So while Celia is fighting to stop the gap from opening completely, she also has to save her own arse from a demon. Don't forget Celia has this death curse on her so this fight will not be easy. Having John and Bruno on her side makes thing easier and harder. These two are pretty close to have a dick measuring contest.
I hope that Celia and John end up
together. I heart his characters. He won Celia over by getting her
tickets to the invite only wine tasting.
