Title: Sweetest Surrender
Series: The Serafina: Sin City, Book 3
Author: Katie Reus
Genre: Romantic Suspense
A woman on the run…
Angel has been on her own for two years, moving from place to place to outrun her past. With no family and few friends to lean on, she’s managed to keep her secrets and stay safe. But when her past suddenly catches up to her, she has a choice to make. Run or stay and claim her life once more.
He’ll stop at nothing to protect her…
Vadim has never let anyone close to him—until Angel. From the first time he met her, everything changed. As a private consultant for Wyatt Christiansen, he’s good with computers and he’s got connections to unearth people’s deepest, darkest secrets. When Angel’s life is threatened Vadim steps in and uses all his resources to end the threat once and for all. As the danger closes in, he lies to her in an effort to protect her, not realizing that even once the threat is eliminated, he might lose her anyway.
The Sweetest Surrender is book 3 in Katie Reus's Sin City series and I'm loving it so far! This one featured Vadim, the elusive techy who works for Wyatt Christiansen on "special projects". In previous books, Vadim was presented as quiet, socially inept, and described as scary. While he maintains his quiet demeanor throughout this book, his relationship with Angel unveils some pretty impressive qualities in our hero. To start, he's uber protective and looks out for Angel even when she doesn't realize he's been doing so.
Angel's character has been on the run for the past 2 years after fleeing her hometown to get away from a stalker turned killer. She's just starting to open up and feel comfortable around her co-workers when she gets wind that things may not be as safe as she thought. Vadim provides her with a safe haven in his home, while also fighting her to the end for rights to her heart.
I LOVED this installment into the series. The storyline with the stalker/killer kept me guessing all the way to the end and even after the big reveal Katie throws fans for a loop because the suspense wasn't quite over with that one person! As with previous books, the secondary characters play a role in the storylines and allows fans to check in with previous characters already featured. If you enjoy romantic suspense and want some great short-but intense reads, pick up The Sweetest Surrender and you won't be disappointed! I'm giving this one 4 Notes, and 4 Flames!
