Hunter James didn’t want or need redemption.

Until one mission turns his world upside down.

He left Mercy to fight for his country and escape a broken heart. Years later, he is hard. Cold. A man without mercy. Part of an elite Task Force, he tracks a brutal terrorist to his home town. And runs into the woman who betrayed him…

Evangeline Videl was destroyed when Hunter left. Determined to move on, she finds another man, but discovers too late the monster hidden beneath his smooth smile. Struggling to find the conviction to live, Evie finds her life spinning out of control.

Then Hunter returns…

Forced to band together to find the terrorist before its too late, Hunter and Evie must learn to forgive or risk losing the promise of redemption and their lives…

Redemption River was one heck of a ride from the beginning down to the last chapter.  Hunter James was fierce, heroic, dangerous, and all alpha male. When he sets his mind on a mission he executes it with stealth and finesse....that is until he's sent back to his home town on a mission to win the trust of his once lover and friend Evageline Videl.

Evie was the one that got away, the one that left Hunter with a broken heart which made him vow to never trust a woman again.  When he discovers that all things are not always what they appear, will he risk his mission to win Evie's trust back, or will he fumble and lose it all?

What I loved most about Redemption River was the action, adventure, and the fact that the author allowed both characters to grow throughout the book.  They were faced with so many adversities and neither was willing to completely trust the other.  Lindsay Cross weaves these impossible situations that the two must conquer in order to save the town and ultimately save one another.  The other thing I really enjoyed was meeting all of the key characters.  Evie's mom Maxine and Hunter's dad Hank were not what I expected but I enjoyed their story and would like to learn more of their back story and how things were back before Evie's father was killed and the three were good friends.

I'm interested in learning more about the other members of the team and what will happen moving forward.  The villain in this story is definitely ruthless and his antics are not for the faint at heart.  His treatment of Evie is deplorable and disgusting and I was certainly glad to see him get what was coming to him.  Now, I only have to wait a few more days to get my hands on Ranger's story and Cross has set that up to be quite interesting.  I'm giving Redemption River 4 Scorching Keys!
