Author Interview:

I loved Abby's character. What inspired you to write a pregnant heroine?

Hmm...I’m not sure. I honestly don't feel like I come up with anything or create anyone, as odd as that may sound. I just saw the entire thing playing out in my head like a movie and the characters were the way they were. I had a lot of people who read my work early on ask me, Why pregnant? Why so many kids? My only answer? Because that’s the way it happened. I watch and listen, and write down what they say and do and hope I do them justice.

How many books are you planning to write for this series?

Three, though some people have asked me to go back and write the other brothers’ stories and that idea is simmering. But for now, only three. I’m just finishing up book two. Stephen will be coming to readers in January. He wasn’t around much in Worth The Fall and there’s a good reason for that. The youngest brother, J.T., will be next and readers will find out why he was nowhere to be found in the last chapter of Worth The Fall.

If you could choose two people to play the roles of Abby and Matt, who would they be?

She may not sound like the most logical choice, but Megan Foxx, at least in THIS picture, is the perfect Abby. And Matt...I’m still looking for my real life Matt, but this guy would be nice. :)

Are you currently working on any other projects besides the McKinney Brothers series?

I have the first in a Romantic Suspense trilogy about 75% finished, very heavy on the romance. It’s about a homeless woman and a homicide detective investigating murders he blames on the homeless. I need more hours in the day!

Which authors would you say inspire your writing the most?

I have TONS of favorite authors and I’m sure they’ve all influenced me through osmosis. Let’s see…Kristan Higgins, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Linda Howard, Sharon Sala, Catherine Anderson, J.D. Robb ( Nora Roberts), and Christine Feehan, just to name a few.

What book(s) are you reading now?

I just finished Then Came You, Jill Shalvis. It was my first by her and I will definitely read more. Up next is Between The Sheets, Molly O’Keefe.

Which do you prefer, hardback books or ebooks?

I’m old school, I know, but I still prefer paperbacks. I don’t deal well with change. Just ask my husband. :)

Thank you so much for having me. I hope readers will try Worth the Fall and let me know what they think. I’ll be having a character interview on my Facebook author page soon, so if they have a question just send it over! Thank you again.

Disclaimer: A copy of this book was provided to me by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Worth the Fall (The McKinney Brothers, #1)Title: Worth the Fall
Series: The McKinney Brothers, Book 1
Author: Claudia Connor
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5 Scorching Keys

Glimpse My Thoughts: Claudia Connor is a debut author that hit the ball straight out the DAMN park with her first book! Worth the Fall was so good, it was worth me staying up until the wee hours of the night to finish the book! I laughed, cried, and cheered the couple on. Can't wait to see where she takes this series!
They meet on a beach. . . . Abby Davis isn’t wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she’s busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn’t looking for fun—he’s a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions . . . and fallen brothers.

They only have a week. . . . Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt’s been sidelined by a combat injury, and haunted by the best friend he lost and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL—focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he’s always wanted: a family.

But a week is all it takes. . . . Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

Worth the Fall is AB-SOL-UTE Perfection wrapped up with a shiny big bow. I'm so glad I took a chance when selecting this book through Net Galley because I was not disappointed. Claudia Connor is a new author and she hit the ball straight out the park with this jewel. When I initially started reading this book, my judgmental essential self wanted to judge the heroine because chick had 4 damn kids and was pregnant with a 4th child. I just couldn't imagine how Connor would make this book work with a pregnant chick who was playing mommie for most of the book. Well, slap the judgmental bitch right outta my head because Connor not only pulls it off, she makes it GOOD!

I loved loved loved the heroine Abby. Having lost her parents at a very early age, and after marrying a man that paid her little attention, Abby finds herself a widow with another baby on the way and no idea that she deserves to really be loved and made a part of something special. Her only focus is her 4 little kids and being the best mom she can be. That is until she meets Matt on the beach.

Matt had no idea his weekend get away with his cousin would lead to meeting the woman of his dreams. A SEAL who is home on leave due to an injury, Matt isn't interested in anything but getting placed back on active duty. Well that was his plans anyway but then he gets hit in the back of the head with a football and his world tilts upside down! Now all he has to do is convince Abby that he's not only attracted to a pregnant woman, but he also finds the whole package, kids and all, Worth the Fall!

If you are looking to dive into a Contemporary Romance with a wealth of cute as hell kids, pick up a copy of Worth the Fall! I'm giving this one 5 Scorching Keys!
