“We’re dragons. We don’t do the mushy friend thing.” - Daniel

The dragon-shifter king will do anything to keep his mate alive…even if it means war.

After millennia as king of the dragon-shifters, Daniel Ashborne wants a little peace and quiet, especially from the beautiful Hollywood starlet who haunts his memories. His escape tactics end abruptly when he is called to the ER to save the one woman he wants to forget, but who now bears his mark.
Shelby Kincade’s life and movie career were nearly destroyed when Daniel vanished a year ago. Now he’s back, claiming they have been accidentally mated. Getting over him once was hard enough, but she must choose either the life of her dreams or the man she can’t live without. With peace finally on the horizon between the dragon-shifters and the Hunters, an assassination attempt on the dragon king and his mate shatters everything. Tensions rebuild as Daniel and his loyal team of shifters try to discover who put out the hit. Enemy and ally lines are crossed, but in the end--after the battle ash has settled--no one could have foreseen who has plotted for their own gain.

Book Review:

A copy of this book was provided to me in exchanged for an honest review.

There is nothing more sexy than a man who loves to make HIS woman smile. Daniel Ashborne is definitely on my list of fiction men I wish were real! The Dragon's Heart was such a good read. The beginning was a tad confusing because the book started with drama but once I got my footing there was no stopping me. The relationship between Daniel and Shelby were complete moments of misunderstandings and fix-its. I heart Shelby's character. When Shelby and Daniel first encounter each other after an eleven month split, he is the last person she wanted to see. Shelby's character is able to show she is strong alone but even better with Daniel. These two have a love to hate type relationship once they are reconnected. Shelby hates that she still has deep feelings for Daniel, and the way her body reacts to him, while Daniel hates Shelby due to a past murder attempt that he thinks is her fault. Throughout the book we get to see the internal struggles Daniel has with himself about his feelings for Shelby. Daniel can be labeled as being beautifully broken. He tries his best to repair his past demons and won't allow himself to see his true self. For Shelby to win his heart, she has to show him that he is worth the fight!

Eden Ashe did a great job making Shelby a strong female character. Throughout the story, Shelby has to fight to keep Daniel from pushing her away. Shelby is very head strong so once she got it in her mind that she wanted to keep Daniel, he didn't have a chance in hell of getting away! One of my favorite parts of the book is when the dragons kept saying, "We're dragons. We don't have friends." This book had me thinking Daniel's favorite place to have sex was the bathroom. LOL. At one point, I think Shelby ran to the bathroom so much because she knew eventually Daniel would come knocking. That dragon definitely has some skills. If I woke up tomorrow as Shelby Kincade, I would be one very satisfied woman. Overall this book gets a rating of 5 notes and 5 flames.

About the Arthur:

Convinced dragons have gotten a bad rep throughout time, and more than a little addicted to fairy tales and romance novels, Eden Ashe has decided to re-write history. In her version, the dragons are ancient warriors in tarnished armor, who not only deserve the girl in the end, but will fight forever for her.

Author Interview:

Which writers inspire you?

Julie Garwood, especially her historicals.

What are you working on at the minute?

At the moment, I'm working on guest posts for my blog tour this month, and editing Dragon Lore Book 2.

Will there be a part 2 to The Dragon's Heart? (I really want to know what happen to Cage!)

Bahaha, I get that a lot about Cage! My boss even threatened my cat if I didn't tell her what happened to him. I'm not saying anything, but I can assure you there will be answers in book 2, Saving the Dragon. It's Dallas The Destroyer's story, and he's gone one heck of a journey to redeem himself after The Dragon's Heart, but I can assure you I LOVE HIM. He's floored me every step of the way.

Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead characters?

I always imagined Emilie de Ravin as Shelby, and the model Josh Button as Daniel.

Do you think that the cover plays an important part in the buying process?

Absolutely. Renee Rocco did the cover for The Dragon's Heart and I still think it's beyond what I could have ever hoped for with a cover for this story. Not to mention she nailed the image I had of
Daniel.

Thank you so much for this opportunity. I absolutely enjoyed this book!

I am so glad! I love hearing that! Thanks for having me, this was fun!
